BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh Valley Polar Bears held their last practice before the Lehigh Valley Winter Classic.
The Polar Bears are a part of the Special Hockey League of the Lehigh Valley (SHLV), and they give kids with special needs the ability to play hockey.
When it comes to the winter classic, officials with SHLV say the community is what makes the event.
"It's all around the local community, whether it's people businesses, fans, family members. We are a community event, we give back to kids with special needs and help them enjoy this sport," said Joe Guellnitz of the Polar Bears.
The Lehigh Valley Winter Classic is set to take place next Saturday at the Bethlehem Municipal Ice Rink.
